BROOKLYN, NY, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gardith P.M. Joseph, Physician of Dr. Gardith Joseph Medical P.C., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in oncology.

As a physician of Dr. Gardith Joseph Medical P.C., Dr. Joseph specializes in hematology and oncology. She is primarily responsible for caring for breast cancer patients, and teaching breast cancer prevention. Dr. Joseph has been practicing hematology and oncology for 15 years both in group practice and hospital settings. She started her own practice in March, 2010. She specializes in breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment. She has had clinical case studies published and gives lectures on preventative care. She is affiliated with Maimonides Cancer Center, Methodist Hospital, and Beth Israel. She does Hematology/Oncology teaching rounds at Methodist Hospital and mentors fellows at Maimonides Cancer Center. She gives presentations on breast cancer at annual Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (AMHE) conventions. She taught at Brookdale Medical Center, where she also served as program director.

Dr. Joseph is originally from Haiti and is fluent in Spanish, French, English and Creole. She became involved in her profession because her mother died in Haiti due to lack of proper medical treatment. She attributes her success to her personality, intelligence and passion.

Dr. Joseph received an MD from the University of Seville in 1982, having received a board certification in internal medicine and medical oncology. She is a member of the Kings County Medical Association, the American College of Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians, and the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad.
