During her 12-year career, Amy Stein has become an internationally recognized expert in the field of physical therapy

NEW YORK, NY, November 4, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy Stein, Owner of Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC, and author of Heal Pelvic Pain, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in physical therapy and pelvic floor dysfunction.

At Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC, Ms. Stein, along with 5 other expert physical therapists, treat patients in the areas of pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction. She uses a holistic approach that addresses the patient's entire well-being. Although she specializes in women's health and pelvic floor dysfunction in men, women and children, she also concentrates on treating musculoskeletal disorders and sports-related injuries.

Ms. Stein first became interested in this field when a friend of hers developed pelvic floor dysfunction as a result of a bladder infection and hysterectomy. Today, she has accumulated 12 years of experience in the field, eight of which she has spent at Beyond Basics Physical Therapy. Ms. Stein earned an education at Nova Southeastern University, resulting in a Master of Physical Therapy. She is now in pursuit of a doctorate in this area.

Considered an expert in her field, she has given lectures across the country and has been interviewed on "20/20" and NBC's nightly news. She has also been featured in the New York Daily News, on Ourgyn.com and VoiceAmerica's The Dr. Melanie Show, and will soon be quoted in AM New York, one of New York City's most distributed newspapers. Ms. Stein serves as an editor for Painchannel.com and is the author of the self-help book on pelvic pain awareness, "Heal Pelvic Pain," for which she received an award. She has also contributed to the writing of the textbook, "Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation and Management."

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and its Women's Health and Private Practice Sections, the National Vulvodynia Association, the Interstitial Cystitis Association, the Interstitial Cystitis Network, the Endometriosis Association and has served on the board of The International Pelvic Pain Society since 2007. She is a supporter of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev as well as all of the Associations mentioned above.
