Lee Ann Stember Recognized by Cambridge's Who's Who for Excellence in the Pharmacy Industry
Acknowledges leadership in advancing patient safety, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of the pharmacy sector of healthcare

UNIONDALE, NY, December 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lee Ann Stember, President of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, Inc. (NCPDP), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the pharmacy industry.

In her 30 years at NCPDP, . Stember has provided the vision and leadership for the pharmacy industry's ANSI-accredited standards development organization. Under her leadership the organization has tackled countless patient safety issues, and developed industry standards that support patient care, including real-time clinical alerts on potential allergies and drug interactions; point-of-sale drug eligibility and copayments; and electronic prescribing and drug utilization and formulary review to reduce errors and enhance delivery of medications.

Stember is also the liaison to NCPDP's Board of Trustees, Committee Chairs and Work Group Co-chairs, and works with government agencies, standards development organizations, healthcare organizations, academia, and others to increase awareness about NCPDP, and industry-wide collaboration for the effective use of healthcare information technology (HIT) to improve patient safety, health outcomes and patient care.
